Who we are
Dan & Danielle O’Connor are a father-daughter writing duo who blend heart, humor, and high-stakes adventure. Inspired by a shared love of storytelling, they coauthored Wiki’s Wonder Crew: Cyber Heist to celebrate courage, curiosity, and the power of family. When not plotting digital showdowns, Dan navigates publishing logistics while Danielle dreams up characters with heart and attitude.
Dan has dedicated over twenty years to working as an electrical engineer. He holds a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) and a MSEE from Purdue University. In his professional life, he thrives on mentoring, programming and designing innovative solutions.
As a proud husband and father of three (ages 7, 13, and 15), he cherishes family time. His hobbies include reading, writing, programming, playing games, sports, coaching sports, gardening, watching movies/TV shows with his kids and playing with his kids. His kids would say he’s a kid in an adult body. Dan is more likely to be found playing games with the nieces and nephews at social events rather than creating small talk.
Dan
He’s played on an adult softball team for the last 20+ years. His team won the league a few years ago and lost in the championship game this last year. Dan plays second base and although not the greatest hitter, he uses his speed to be effective. Dan always plays at full go and has the wounds to prove it. Over the years, Dan has gotten a concussion playing softball when someone tried to jump over him when he was tagging the player. He’s also had to get stitches near the eyelid due to a collision with the shortstop. Dan is known to wear a ton of braces. He wears two knee braces, 2 ankle braces.
The extra hardware that he wears during sports is a preventative thing at this point as Dan sprained his fair share of ankles during lunch time basketball. Dan and his coworkers played basketball for many years until COVID shut it down. Dan loved the comradery and sportsmanship that occurred during those basketball games.
